What you can do to help Companion Connection:

1) Companion Connection depends on donations to feed, house and provide medical care for all the animals at the sanctuary.  See our Wish List here or visit Smile.Amazon and register Companion Connection as your non profit to support.  When you do this and use Smile.amazon.com for your shopping needs 1% of your purchases is sent to us at no extra cost to you!

2)   We are also in need of volunteers to help keep the village clean and the furbabies socialized.  If you can help us in any way, we would love to hear from you.

3) Our Sponsorship Program raises money for Companion Connection by connecting cats and dogs housed at our sanctuary with animal lovers like you! The best part is you can be a sponsor from anywhere - no matter where you live. Companion Connection provides a home to approximately 15+ cats and several dogs at any given time.  Many of these companion animals require special medical attention, are not completely socialized,  or are unlikely to be adopted due to other reasons.  These companion animals may live out their lives at the sanctuary, if necessary, and we are dedicated to providing them the love and medical care they need.  By being a member of our Sponsorship Program, your donations help cover the costs of caring for these companion animals and the sanctuary they live in. Any amount will help.  If you are interested in sponsoring a Companion Connection animal, please contact us at VillageRescue@gmail.com .  And your donations are tax deductible!

4) The next time you’re at Randalls, Remember to link your Remarkable Card to our number 12572 and your purchases will be credited to our account. Randalls will pay us a percentage of our account total. At NO COST to you, so be sure to use your card every time you shop.  Ask the checker to link your Remarkable Card to 12572. You only need to do it once, help us raise funds the easy way!

HELP HELP HELP!

Companion Connection needs your help to pay off the incurred medical bills for our sanctuary cats.  We still owe the credit card company about $2,000.00 and our latest veterinary bill is over $900!

Can you help?  $5, $10, or whatever you can spare will help a lot if everyone pitches in and shares our need.

Companion Connection does not take owner surrender animals; rather, we try to educate how the companion animal can remain in the family and provide guidance when and where we are able.

If you have lost your companion animal, contact the Animal Control with the Elgin Police Department, Bastrop County Animal Shelter or Austin Animal Center.   Please note that Elgin, TX no longer has an animal shelter, only the Animal Control Officer working under the Elgin Police Department.  Strays picked up by Elgin Animal Control are taken to Bastrop County Animal Shelter on Cool River Drive.

Noko was surrendered to Companion Connection in 2010 when his person could no longer care for him.  He is a very big boy, weighing 16 pounds!  He is friendly and really enjoys his head scratched; but you cannot stroke him all the way down his back to the tail.  He can get upset if you do.  He may be adopted into the right home to someone who will respect his limits on stroking.  Noko has become bonded with one of our skerals, Taylor.

At the end of June, I noticed a considerable weight loss on Noko and his hair was dull and thinning.  I took him to our local vet and after the tests at their clinic, we still didn’t have an answer.  So he then went to the specialty hospital for ultrasound (which was inconclusive) and eventual endoscopy.  While he was out, a feeding tube was inserted as he had lost 3 pounds in less than a month!   Final diagnosis was Irritable Bowel Disease.  He is on steroids now which we will gradually reduce until ceased altogether.  But all his medical bills ran just under $3,000!

Any financial assistance you might provide for Noko will be greatly appreciated Donations can be made using our PayPal Donation button.  Just put “For Noko” in the comments section and the money will go directly for his care.  Consider sponsoring Noko for just $30 a month.

Special Offer by one of our regular supporters:

Hand painted pots for your donations!  These pots are primed, hand painted then sealed so with reasonable care, they will last a long time!  If a plant is included, only hardy plants are used, nothing that will take special care.    Right now, these can only be for our local supporters because we cannot ship them out of our area (Austin, Pflugerville, Round Rock, Taylor, Hutton, Elgin, Bastrop, Manor).  They will be picked up at our artisan’s choice of either her home or the Elgin Library downtown Elgin, or I may be able to deliver.

If someone has a particular size they prefer, or wants to drop by a plant to be potted once the pottery is painted, he/she could make an extra donation and it will be done!  Also, if you have special colors and wants something created in those colors, our craft lady  would consider doing that with no obligation for you to take if you don’t like it.
